Veterinary Surgeon

Job Title: Community & Culture Manager (Elevated Role)

Position Type: Elevated Responsibility (combined with current Technician or CSR duties)
Reports To: Practice Manager

Position Overview

The Community & Culture Manager is a team member who leads by example and champions a positive, healthy workplace culture. This is an elevated role performed in addition to your existing technician or CSR responsibilities. The ideal candidate excels at developing strong relationships, demonstrates exceptional people skills, and fosters an environment of collaboration, recognition, and open communication.

This role is responsible for managing team social events, encouraging positive interactions among staff, participating in professional leadership development, and promoting a respectful and engaged workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Culture & Team Engagement

  • Lead by example and set a positive tone for the team.

  • Encourage open, constructive communication and minimize gossip or negativity.

  • Support staff in resolving concerns by directing them to the appropriate management team member for productive solutions.

  • Recognize and celebrate staff excellence and achievements.

  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful workplace culture.

Social Events & Community Building

  • Chair the Party Planning Committee to create and implement 1–2 social events per quarter.

  • Manage the budget for social events, ensuring proper submission of receipts and documentation to accounting.

  • Coordinate logistics with host sites, vendors, and internal team members.

  • Communicate event details clearly to staff
  • Gather feedback from staff to measure and continuously improve engagement 
  • Work with the committee to plan and implement celebrations (appreciation weeks, birthdays, hospital anniversary, etc.)

Collaboration & Leadership Development

  • Work closely with the CSR Manager, Inventory Manager, Lab Manager, and co-Floor Managers under guidance of the Practice Manager.

  • Participate in collaborative professional development opportunities with other managers to enhance leadership skills.

  • Support management initiatives aimed at improving team cohesion, morale, and overall workplace satisfaction.

  • Proven ability to build positive relationships and foster a supportive team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, particularly for managing events and budgets.

  • Ability to lead initiatives while performing core technician or CSR responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional workplace.
